Numerical Analysis

The numerical analysis using the computer makes easy to solve the complex problems in Physics. In this summer computational seminar, we study the basic concepts for the numerical analysis and the elementary way to analyze the problem to solve by the numerical analysis. As a first stage, we solve the linear and nonlinear equations by using the computer.

1. Basic concepts for the numerical analysis (K.W. Choi) (Jun. 29.).[ PPT]

2. Programming with C (S.J. Kang) (Jul. 6.).[ PPT]

3. Solving the linear equations through the Gauss elimination (S.Y. Min) (Jul. 13.). [ PPT ]

4. Solving the nonlinear equations through the bisection method (H. Shim) (Jul. 20.). [ PPT ]

5. Solving the nonlinear equations with one unknown through the Newton method (S.J. Kang) (Jul. 27.). [ PPT ]

6. Solving the nonlinear equations with two unknowns through the Newton method (S.Y. Min) (Aug. 3.). [ PPT ]

7. Solving the nonlinear equations with N unknowns through the Newton method (H. Shim) (Aug. 10.). [ PPT ]

8. Solving the nonlinear equations through the Müller method (S.J. Kang) (Aug. 17.). [ PPT ]
